NEW APPLICATION FORM
As of 05 of April 2010 a new application form for Schengen visa has to be submitted (available at our website). Please, note that the old visa application form can not be accepted after the 5 of April 2010.
Schengen visa is valid in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic , Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland .
The Schengen visa issued by the Embassy or the Consulate of the above countries is valid for all of these countries and allows its holder moving freely within the territory of the Schengen Treaty.
Applying for the Schengen visa:
If you intend to visit only one of the Schengen countries, you must apply for a visa at the Embassy or the Consulate of that country.
If you intend to visit several Schengen countries, you must apply for a visa at the Embassy or the Consulate of the country of your main destination (where you will stay longer).
If you intend to visit several Schengen countries without having a main destination, you should apply for a visa at the Embassy or the Consulate of the first Schengen country on your travel itinerary that requires you to have a visa.
NEW: VALIDITY OF THE PASSPORT
As of 05 of april 2010 - at the moment you apply for a visa, your passport may not be older than 10 years. Even when the passport is valid for more several years, the passport can not be accepted when it is older than 10 years.
The passport should contain for each visa at least 2 empty pages: 1 page for the visa and 1 for the entry and exit stamps.
In the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands you can apply for the following types of visa:
Business;
Private;
Transit;
Tourism;
Car-buyers and truck-drivers;
Please, note that this Embassy represents the following countries for Schengen visa issue: Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, Finland and Iceland*. If you intend to study, work, or marry to a citizen of one of these countries and will therefore stay there for longer than 3 months, you have to apply to the Embassies of these countries in Moscow .
* As of 1 January 2010 the Netherlands Embassy does not represent Norway anymore. All applicants travelling to Norway have to apply to the Norwegian Embassy in Astana (for more information: www.norvegia.kz, tel. (+7 7172) 55 11 00).
As a rule, decisions concerning your visa will be taken within 3 working days; however, in case the visa application needs to be referred to the Central Authorities of the Netherlands, it may take 1-8 weeks before the decision is made. Visa applicants travelling to Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Iceland or Luxembourg can be referred to the respective Embassies in Moscow if no decision can be made in the Netherlands Embassy.
The nationals of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, and Sri Lanka require a transit visa to pass the transit zone of the Netherlands Airport .
Visas are issued free of charge if:
- In case of family members of EU/EEA nationals *):
- an applicant holds a diplomatic or a service passport (upon presentation of a note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or from a representing diplomatic mission in Almaty stating that the journey is made for official reasons);
- children under 6 years old.
*) - Please, note that unfortunately for applicants married to Dutch nationals this visa fee exemption does not apply -in case they apply for a Schengen visa in the Embassy of the Netherlands .
· the applicant is a family member (for children: until the age of 21) of an EU/EEA national (upon presentation of documentary proof, as such a copy of the passport, marriage / birth certificate);
· the EU/EEA national is travelling to or residing in another member state than that of which he / she is a national;
· the applicant is accompanying the EU/EEA national or is planning to join him /her;
· the applicant has to submit an insurance for medical costs of 30.000euro when travelling to the country of which the EU/EEA national has its nationality.
