Cultural Agenda
Every year the Embassy works on a rather intensive cultural agenda. We cooperate with local cultural institutions and organisations in the implementation of intercultural projects, the main objective of which is to enhance a profound and deep cultural exchange between our countries.
While participating in various events initiated by the local community, we try to bring the best and the most interesting representatives of the Dutch contemporary culture in different spheres.

The Dutch Week in Kazakhstan
(Almaty, September 23—29, 2005)
During the period from 23 to 29 September 2005 the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands has held the following events in Almaty, in the framework of the “Dutch Week in Kazakhstan” under a slogan The Dutch Touch. The idea of the Dutch week in Kazachstan was to promote Dutch culture in cooperation with Dutch companies present in Kazachstan.
The events:
- The Dutch All-Star Soul and R&B show with participation of the Dutch and Kazakh stars (Almaty, September 23, 19:00, Old Square);
- Dutch Film Week-end (Almaty, September 24-26, “Caesar” Cinema, beginning of the films at 19:00 and 21:00);
- The Dutch Touch to Central Asia, exhibition of the contemporary Dutch artist Ronald Kleijer (Almaty, opening September 27, 18:30 hours at “Tengri-Umai” Contemporary Art Gallery);
- “Business football”, a mini-football tournament between the Dutch and Kazakh companies (Almaty, September 28, “Football Land” sports complex);
- Business seminar “Doing Business with the Netherlands” (Almaty, September 29, The Regent Almaty Hotel).

Posted on 50 billboards and posts of “Almatygoroformlenie” JSC as well as in 11 universities, at “Caesar” and “Arman” cinema theatres, in the offices of the Dutch companies (Shell, ABN AMRO BANK, Heineken, Kcell).

A total of 4000 leaflets were disseminated by a mobile promoters group (3 persons) at the following venues:

Mini-football tournament: approx. 150 people

European Film Week
The Delegation of the European Commission in Kazakhstan annually organises a European Film Week in Kazakhstan, which also travels to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
